Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, Hennessey Performance, has recently unveiled a limited ‘Final Edition’ series of their renowned EXORCIST Camaro ZL1 enhancements.
The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 engine, capable of producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Hennessey’s team of experienced technicians, known for their expertise in making cars faster for over 32 years, have made significant upgrades to the Camaro’s V8 engine. This includes a larger high-flow supercharger, improved air induction system, and enhancements to the auxiliary fuel system, fuel injectors, and fuel pump. The powerplant has also been optimized with ported cylinder heads, custom HPE camshafts, upgraded intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, retainers, lifters, and pushrods. Additional improvements include a larger heat exchanger for improved cooling and long-tube stainless steel headers with high-flow catalytic converters for better breathing.
After years of research and development, the EXORCIST ‘Final Edition’ is now equipped with finely tuned HPE Engine Management software. Coupled with a complete engine overhaul, the LT4 engine now delivers an impressive 1,000 horsepower and 966 lb-ft of torque – a significant 54 percent increase in power and 49 percent boost in torque. The result? Unbelievable performance, including a jaw-dropping 2.1 second 0-60 mph time, a quarter-mile time of just 9.57 seconds, and a top speed of 217 mph.
In 2017, Hennessey introduced the original EXORCIST on the Camaro’s sixth-generation Alpha platform. It was designed to outperform its rival, the supercharged Dodge Demon with its 840 horsepower output. However, Hennessey’s EXORCIST boasted an even more impressive 1,000 horsepower. Recently, Dodge has announced a dragstrip-tuned version of their Challenger SRT Demon with a whopping 1,025 horsepower fueled by E85. Despite this increase in power from the Challenger, Hennessey’s EXORCIST Camaro ZL1 ‘Final Edition’ remains unfazed and ready for both the track and everyday driving.
John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the company, expresses his admiration for their latest upgrade to the Camaro ZL1. The integration of the chassis, suspension, and powerplant results in a unparalleled driving experience characterized by unbridled horsepower. Their unique EXORCIST model is a limited edition that has captured the attention of fans of this legendary car and will soon be no longer available.
