Praga, a renowned car brand with a rich history, has officially announced that their inaugural road-legal hypercar is now being manufactured in a specialized facility located in the Czech Republic.
The prototype of the Praga Bohema was first introduced in late-2022 and production will be limited over the next four years. This could potentially make it the final hypercar powered by petrol to enter the market. With a weight under 1,000kgs and an impressive 700hp, this two-seater boasts a completely carbon design and aerodynamic features, making it a highly sought-after addition to any hypercar collection.
According to Tomas Kasparek, owner of Praga Cars, this marks a significant moment in Praga’s 117-year legacy. He expressed particular pride in the fact that production is beginning just one year after the unveiling of the Bohema prototype car. The team is closely monitoring every step of the production to ensure that the final Bohema car not only meets but surpasses the expectations of their customers.
First clients invited to see Bohema going into build
The initial buyers of the €1.36m road-legal hypercar were recently given an exclusive tour of Praga’s custom assembly plant to witness the meticulous construction process, which prioritizes top-grade components and expert craftsmanship. These early Bohema clients also had the chance to test out the completed model, equipped with standard Pirelli Trofeo R tires, on frozen Czech highways prior to its official debut in Spring 2024.
The initial Bohema customer handover is set for Europe during the first half of 2024 and will showcase a special specification to commemorate the event. Along with this, handovers are also being arranged in the UAE and USA for 2024, while Praga has scheduled production of the Bohema for 2025.
After Praga’s thorough on-road pre-production development and ride-and-drive tests at various locations such as Spa-Francorchamps, the Red Bull Ring, and Nürburgring, the Bohema is now ready for production. Our team has sought advice and expertise from top drivers in both road and track racing, including Romain Grosjean, a well-known F1 and IndyCar driver, Ben Collins, formerly known as the Stig on BBC’s Top Gear, as well as our Chief Test Driver and experienced GT racer, Josef Kral.
Ben Collins, Praga R1 racing driver and Bohema test driver, said; “This Summer I travelled across Europe and the Middle East showcasing the Praga Bohema to customers and sharing the unique experience it delivers. As the car goes into production we are one step closer to seeing these incredible cars in customers’ hands on the street, on the track and doing what they were made for. 2024 will be a very special year for Praga and their customers.”
Limited test drive opportunities in Europe and the UK will begin in Spring
Limited test drive opportunities in Europe and the UK will begin in Spring before Praga activates its North American and Middle East Bohema launch programmes in 2024.
Mark Harrison, Sales & Marketing Director at Praga Cars, said: “This is a proud moment for everyone at Praga and an exciting time for our first customers; they have come on this journey with us that has quickly moved from presenting the car in prototype form to production starting. Praga is new to the hypercar market, but the product quality, pricing, launch programme and, most importantly, the car’s performance are generating excitement and interest. I’m looking forward to seeing the first car handed over.”
It certainly has the looks and can’t wait to see it myself.
